Trelleborg Industrial AVS Chevron Spring and Bracket have been successfully used inrailway vehicle X2 bogie for several years. In order to reestablish the original dynamicproperties of the X2 bogie, the stress state and cumulative damage in the chevron springbracket has been examined.The three-dimensional finite element model has been developed which include the detailof the welds. FE code ABAQUS has been used to assess the working stress state and theresidual stress caused by welding in the bracket. The non-linear property has been applied tomodeling the chevron spring rubber and fatigue analyses have been carried out on the basis ofthe results of the finite element calculations. The results of different elements, meshes andboundary conditions are compared. The analysis has shown that non-linear analysis can givemore realistic results for chevron spring bracket.
